Last weekend, following up my very first Double Header Wedding Weekend (try to say that five times fast, I sure can’t) I closed out my weekend exploring the quaint and festive town of Peddler’s Village out near New Hope, Pennsylvania with Jessica.
From her very first inquiry to the last shutter click during our hour and a half session together, Jess was a dream to work with, though I shouldn’t be surprised. After all, when you are an incredibly bad-ass stylist and boss of your own company, being a sweet and stylish angel comes naturally.
I chose to capture some of the beautiful natural elements that Pennsylvania has to offer in the Fall, knowing that Jess has a green thumb and loves plants (bless her heart because I have somehow killed the only two succulents I have ever been given, shhh don’t tell Jess). The emphasis on the green foliage allowed me to make sure that Jess’s hair would shine as bright as her personality against the warm fall tones.
I mean come on, can her hair get ANY cooler?
From planning her outfits, to picking a location, Jess understood one of the most important, but often overlooked things about portrait and branding shoots: client and photographer are a team. Jess honestly answered all the questions I asked during her initial consultation call, she made sure I understood not only what she hoped to get from the shoot, but who she was.
This is SUCH a critical step in the client/photographer relationship, and why investing in professional photography is just that: an investment. Arriving on location on the day of shoot, I felt like Jess was an old friend, and that allowed her to place her full trust in my creative direction, as well as making her photos feel much more natural.
This young entrepreneur was an absolute angel to work with, and a pleasure to get to know, and she even treated me to some local fudge from a chocolate store (honestly, if I could find a way to work a fudge store into every. single. shoot. I do, I would). If you are looking for a fun, energetic, and incredibly talented colorist in the Landsdale, PA area, look no further than Jessica!
Jess was sweet enough that she has allowed me to share a quote she texted me after our shoot!
Thank you so much for your time and talent! I am IN LOVE (with the pictures) Clayton. You are beyond an artist. Your style is everything! Thank you so so SO much again for having the ability to capture (my style). The photos are gorgeous and I can’t wait to share them. I’m so glad we met!
This is absolutely why I am convinced I am the luckiest person in the world. I get to work with incredible individuals every day, helping capture their distinctly beautiful stories of love, light, hardships, and successes. All the constantly moving, different threads of their life are frozen, if for just a moment, by my lens and immortalized. These tableaus lovingly reflect all the incredible, powerful, HUMAN moments that make up life itself!
If you or someone you know is ready to have me capture YOUR story, then I encourage you to reach out to me! There is never a bad day to fall even more in love with your life and YOUR STORY!
